PAINT CORRECTION

Over time, everyday washing, road debris, weather exposure, and poor washing techniques can leave your vehicle's paintwork covered in swirl marks, light scratches, oxidation, and other imperfections that dull its appearance. Paint correction is the process of safely removing these defects to restore the paint's original depth, gloss, and clarity. Not only does it dramatically improve the overall appearance of your vehicle, but it also creates the perfect foundation for long-lasting protection such as ceramic coatings, helping to maintain its finish and value for years to come.

The PROCESS

Our paint correction service is a meticulous process designed to safely restore your vehicle's paintwork by removing defects and maximising gloss, depth, and clarity.

A thorough assessment of the vehicle's paintwork is carried out to identify swirl marks, scratches, oxidation, holograms, water spotting, and other imperfections. Paint depth readings may also be taken to ensure safe correction.

The vehicle is treated with a snow foam to loosen dirt and contaminants before any contact washing takes place, helping to minimise the risk of further scratches.

Using the two-bucket wash method, premium wash mitts, and professional-grade shampoos, the vehicle is carefully cleaned to remove all surface dirt.

Wheels, tyres, wheel arches are thoroughly cleaned and decontaminated using specialist products.

Iron fallout removers and tar removers are applied to dissolve embedded contaminants that standard washing cannot remove.

The paintwork is mechanically decontaminated using a clay bar or clay mitt to remove bonded contaminants, leaving the surface smooth and ready for machine polishing.

The vehicle is carefully dried using soft microfibre drying towels. Sensitive trim and delicate areas are then masked to protect them during polishing.

Paint thickness is measured and a test area is polished to determine the safest and most effective combination of compounds, pads, and machine polishing techniques.

The paintwork undergoes 3 stages of machine polishing to remove defects such as swirl marks, oxidation, light scratches, and holograms. This process restores depth, clarity, and gloss while preserving as much clear coat as possible.

Following correction, all polishing oils and residues are removed to reveal the true finish. The paintwork is then inspected to ensure the highest possible standard has been achieved.

A protective layer is applied to preserve the corrected finish.

This will include a wax or sealant.

Glass, trims, tyres, and exterior surfaces receive their finishing treatments, ensuring every aspect of the vehicle is presented to the highest standard.

A comprehensive final inspection is carried out before the vehicle is returned, ensuring exceptional gloss, clarity, and attention to detail throughout.

Expected Results After Paint Correction

✔ Significant reduction or removal of swirl marks, light scratches, oxidation, holograms, and other paint defects

✔ Dramatically improved gloss, depth, and clarity

✔ Enhanced colour richness and paint reflectivity

✔ Restoration of a smoother, more refined paint finish

✔ Improved appearance under direct sunlight and inspection lighting

✔ Increased vehicle presentation and resale appeal

✔ A near showroom-quality finish, depending on the original condition of the paintwork

The level of defect removal achieved will vary depending on the condition, age, and thickness of the paintwork. During inspection, we will advise on the realistic results that can be safely achieved.
